No: Correction of a malocclusion is not a medical necessity. You've made it into adulthood with your malocclusion without any problems, so it would be hard to claim that it was now necessary to correct your bite to function.

Aged out: Medical necessity has nothing to do with insurance. It has to do with the list of covered procedures. Usually orthodontic treatment is not covered for adults over 18-19.

Malocclusion Medical: No one dies of crooked teeth. Yet, crooked teeth are hard to clean & can lead to gum disease, straightened teeth are easy to clean and prevent disease. Physiologically crooked teeth can effect ones self esteem, aligned teeth restore self esteem & confidence in ones smile to a great deal, worth doing. Yes there is a cost in time & money, both spent to benefit you - a worthy endeavor.
