A member asked:

Gf has lower back pain which feels very warm in the affected area, is this inflammation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not.: Inflammation usually involves warmth, redness, swelling and tenderness. Skin is normally warm to the touch. Back pain is most commonly due to muscle pain deeper in the back. The deep muscles, ligaments and tendons may be inflamed but you are most likely not feeling that at the level of her skin.
