Puncture wounds: You cannot quite "get rid of" puncture wounds. You have to help them heal by cleaning them out aggressively immediately, maintaining clean dressings, and watching for signs of bacterial infection (increased redness, swelling, and drainage). Rarely for a deep infected puncture wound, there may need to be surgical incision for drainage and in some cases they cut out the infected drainage tract.
