A member asked:

Trying to understand my illness and reading a lot on aortic vegetationw/ encardolitis is there a relation to using cortisones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Endocarditis is an infection of the lining of the heart, it comes from septicemia or bacteria in the blood. That usually happens in people who inject street drugs. But can also happen from any infection. Cortisone might put you at risk by interfering with immune system, increasing risk of infection that ultimately reaches the heart. Some people might be at a higher risk due to valve deformity.
