Unnecessary : Breast cysts are caused by blocked ducts within the breast and do not require biopsy. Occasionally, debris or septae within the cyst may give it a "complex" appearance; we often repeat the ultrasound 6 months later to be certain that what we presumed was a complex cyst was not actually a solid mass.
