A member asked:

Is it necessary for a 4 yr old to have a t & a when he has sleep apnea intermittently? he is a mouth breather and occasional snorer. no other symptoms

I would: The relative size and blockage produced by the t & a mass will continue to increase until about 8 yo when it stabilizes in most. If the kid has sleep apnea issues at 4 you are just delaying the inevitable. If it were my kid i'd have it done today.

Recommended: While it is not necessary, your child will benefit from improved sleep if they are suspected to have sleep apnea or have documented sleep apnea.
