Train from the start: Newborns feed by instinct and drift off when tired (without knowing they are sleeping). Many have success setting a pattern the first days: a two hour nap; wake to feed; body care; followed by play until signs of fatigue , then place in their comfort place to sleep. At night they wake on their own to feed but limiting day naps prevents day/night reversal.Night sleep increases as day volume increases.

Baby Feedings: Sleeping through the night is a developmental milestone we don't expect until closer to 2 months. Feeding on demand (not on a schedule) is key to achieving a long sleep. Babies need to "cluster feed" (a meal marathon) before and after a long sleep (until their tummies get bigger). Once she's sleeping through, try putting her in her crib to learn to fall asleep on her own (on her back).
