HIDA: A hida scan with cck stimulation can measure gallbladder ejection fraction with the normal range between 35 and 75 percent. If lower than 35 percent this may lead to gallbladder-related pain and removing the gallbladder can be considered. You may have something else going on and your gastroenterologist should be able to figure this out. Go back and insist on discussing.

Depends on the .....: Method used to administer and dose of the gallbladder contracting medicine (sincalide). The best validated reference data uses a dose of 0.02 microgram/kg body weight infused over 60 minutes. This technique results in the least variability and has a normal gallbladder ejection fraction of equal to or greater than 38%. If this technique was used in your case, 46% would be considered normal.

Normal, borderlineEF: The ejection fraction of the gallbladder is the percentage of bile which is excreted when the gallbladder contracts. The "normal' value should be more than 40%. But this is only a number and may vary from time to time or according to some physiologic states or medications. If all other tests used in the investigation of your symptoms are normal, it would be good to control the ef. Good luck!

Normal in our lab: In our lab, an ejection fraction between 35%-90 is normal. Many things can cause nausa, vomiting and diarrhea...Like a problem with your bowel or stomach. Your doctor will need to assess these issues along with a physical exam and other tests.
