A member asked:

I have high blood pressure and take medication, yet is still high now and am having upper abdominal pains. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HTN / ABD pain: If BP remains high on medications it is time to see your doc to get things on track. In general BP should be treated to 135/80 range. No excuse for taking antihypertensive meds and walking around at 150/90. Upper abdominal pains are not likely related to HTN or to the meds you take for htn. In a young o/w healthy female they are likely benign, but if persistent or worsening should be eval'd.
