No: If you are referring to a bone infection in or around the sinus cavities in your head, this is a serious condition. Bone infections also known as osteomyelitis is not very common. Rifampin is an older antibiotic that is rarely used alone to treat infections. If is often used in combination with other antibiotics especially for tuberculosis. It is also used for memingitis prophylaxis.

No: Rifampin is sometimes used to treat staphylococcal infections but it is never used as mono-therapy, only in combination with another anti-staphylococcal antibiotic. This is because of the rapid development of resistance when it is used alone.

RIFAMPIN: An old TB drug. Great against Staph, but resistance develops if used by itself.
