InterstitialCystitis: Hopefully it's not interstitial cystitis, a chronic relapsing and recurring condition associated with pelvic pain and urinary symptoms. If this were the case, she would likely had her symptoms for many years. Certain kinds of intercourse can also cause irritation to the area, and also consider irritation caused by condoms (ie, latex allergies get worse with age), lubricant, etc.
