Not necessary but...: Sex is necessary for the human race as a whole to reproduce & thus survive, but for individual humans it is not "necessary." everyone is different- some people have high sex drives and sex is very important for them, some may become unhealthily obsessed & others have low sex drive or interest & can have full and fulfilling lives without sex. But for most people sex is part of a full healthy life.
