A 18-year-old female asked:

also if someone elses blood touches a popped bleeding pimple would hiv transmit just something i was curious about?

Small risk: If the blood had a high viral load, in theory, the virus could be transmitted. If the viral load were small, the risk would be relatively less if the area were washed right away after exposure.

No: If you donated blood a month ago, you should not be having pain. This would most likely be from phlebitis or irritation to the vein. I would have someone take a look at this or call the facility that drew the blood.

What can be done to treat acne on the face, chest, and shoulders?

Dr. Michael Fisher

Acne Therapy: Acne treatments work by reducing oil production, speeding up skin cell turnover, fighting bacterial infection, reducing the inflammation or doing all four. With most prescription acne treatments, you may not see results for four to eight weeks, and your skin may get worse before it gets better. There are topicals like ziana and epiduo and oral medication like solodyn (minocycline). See your dermatologist.

What are some acne treatments for teens besides proactive?

Dr. Ed Friedlander

Ones that work: Being a teen is hard enough without acne, and a teen has a right to something that works better than slick-packaged benzoyl peroxide. I start teens on topical Clindamycin with or without retinoic acid, and move to stronger stuff, including a systemic antibiotic, if it fails. For the really hard cases, dermatologist have the big guns. Junior deserves the best. Good luck.
