EGFR: E is for estimated. There are many ways to estimate gfr. Best validated is the mdrd available at national kidney foundation. http://www.kidney.org/professionals/kdoqi/gfr.cfm. Egfr declines with age and indeed 70 is about normal for age 70. You sound very muscular so you are not normal. 50 is probably your normal. Avoid medications that could hurt your kidneys and do not become dehydrated.
