Human Papilloma: Virus - hpv. Hpv is a virus. It is associated with about 80%, not 100% of cervical cancers. A vaccine is available to prevent most hpv related cervical cancers and you are at the right age to take the vaccine. Please see your doctor about the vaccine.

HPV is a virus: Hpv is human papilloma virus. It causes chronic inflammation to the cells of the cervix and over a 15-20 year time course can cause cancer of the cervix. Over 99% of all cervical cancers are associated with hpv.
