It can be at least 3: Months before it fully heals and swelling will be greatly reduced, but the swelling may take upto 6 months to fully resolve. A lot depends upon the treatment given so far, and the splintage/casting used. Keep it elevated and keep with your crutches for nonweight bearing, till released by your orthopod.
