Honesty: At 5 years old, children need to hear honesty. He doesn't need to know all the details, but he already knows that you are upset. You may say you were hoping to have a baby, but it didn't work. That sometimes these things happen, and we don't really know why. Tell him that you are a little sad, but it's okay. Remind him that you love him and will always be there to take care of him.
