Can a 31 year old woman that had a past ectopic pregnancy, one tubal removed due to it ,and usually smokes cigarettes and drinks, get a second ectopic pregnancy ?

If you are wondering if you can conceive, it is hard to say. Ectopic's often occur because of a scarring within the tube that prevents the egg from moving normally to the uterus. If your other tube is normal, pregnancy should be possible. If scarred, maybe not. Talk with your OB about some testing &or other alternatives to achieve pregnancy.

Yes! There is an increased risk of a 2nd ectopic pregnancy in anyone who has had a previous one. Moreover, the internal tubal factors such as adhesions, kinking or hypermotility are still present in subsequent. pregnancy attempts. Patients who smoke have a higher risk due to nicotine's actions on the smooth muscle of the Fallopian tube causing hypercontractility and spasm, trapping the ovum.
