Sore tongue: I understand your need for relief with these symptoms. You will need to consult both your dentist and physician because blood tests will probably be used to help rule out or identify contributing factors. If you cannot figure out a specific cause, like a toothpaste, food, or medication you are taking, then you may have burning tongue syndrome. There are medications which can soothe your pain.

Tongue not normal: See your dentist soon to examine your tongue. If he/she isn't sure what's happening, they can refer you to either an oral surgeon or internist, whichever is appropriate. Sometimes it's as simple as a product your using, other times it can be an infection, but do have it examined soon.
