Yes, it's 1 cause: Hypothyroidism can cause a feeling of mental sluggishness and "fogginess, " as well as depression. That's why the workup of someone who presents with depression, needs to include physical exam plus studies of thyroid function -- as well as multiple other areas too. Disturbed sleep makes it all worse. Please see your doctor for evaluation, and don't rely on herbal supplements alone for help.

Maybe but it depends: Many things can cause mental fogginess, including hypothyroidism, depression, insomnia, agitation, etc. Best to see family doc to get this all sorted out.
