A member asked:

Sometimes in the car when my husband takes a right turn my stomach drops.. it is extremely uncomfortable what or why does this happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inner ear: The sensation of the stomach dropping with movement is likely due to a slight damage to the inner ear balance mechanism. Turning to the right induces a signal in the balance systems, but if that signal is not equal and opposite in both ears, a slight dizziness results. If you had a cold, it might damage the inner ear; if it is persistent and especially if you have ear ringing, see your doctor.
