No easy answers: I'm a ringside physician myself, and often there's no understanding how fast or slow lean muscle appears. If you're not using creatine, consider it; an electronic muscle stimulator tens unit might be worth exploring if it is okay with your coach and physician. Resistance training is the key, you know boxing is primarily about smarts, speed & fitness. Very glad you're in the sport.
