Enlarged spleen: Can be caused by many different things, but in your case, it could be coming from splenic vein thrombosis. Idiopathic means unknown cause, so your doctors probably can't figure out why your get pancreatitis and what you can do to prevent recurrence or complications i assume you already had cholecystectomy. I would surely stay away from alcohol and certain meds that can cause pancreas problems.
