1-4 weeks: Everybody is different, and the extent of the posterior tibial nerve damage will dictate the progress. I've had patients that didn't need any pain medications and i've had patients that required up to 8 weeks of pain medication.

Painful surgery: That can be a tough surgery to go through but can have great results. It really depends on the individual, but narcotic pain medication could be used anywhere from two to six weeks. Most people I have had post tarsal tunnel request narcotics for two to four weeks.
