Unlikely: The early greenfields were not designed for easy removal( some now are supposed to be easy)! the long term has been reported by dr greenfield and one should acquaint with that. Surgical removal would have risks that most likely are greater than any benefit to be expected.

Not worth it: As dr. Wright said, a greenfield filter that has been in for 15 years would be risky to remove. If isn't bothering you, i wouldn't bother it.

Filter: Greenfield filters are not removable if is indeed a green frills design filter. Even if it is retrievable design it has been in more than 10 years and likely will not come out regardless. I would recommend leaving it alone. You are not likely to have any problems with it.
