Yes: Sure you can. In some people there risks of coagulation (thinning the blood) like falling snd developing hematoma's or brain bleeds ids too great. So, an inferior vena cava filter is umbrella'ed in to catch any thrombus heading north to the lungs. There are several meds on te maket that are safe and do not require coag monitoring like Xarelto.
