A member asked:

I have white sore on my uvuala is ths mean i'm getting strep?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessaraly: The uvula is in the main pathway through which most germs enter the body. These come from contact of our fingers to our face and enter the mouth. The act of swallowing bathes the roof of our mouth and uvula with germs continuously. Viruses are more common than strep and cannot live on the oral mucous like the strep germ.Viruses must enter and disrupt tissue to survive causing sores in the process.
