You're OK: Iron is absorbed in a more acid environment, that's why you need to separate the pills. But ppis like Omeprazole can lower your acid so far that they impact iron absorption all day. They also can make osteoporosis worse, lead to infections like pneumonia and colitis, and shouldn't be taken forever. If you have reflux, you should consider an antireflux procedure or surgery.
