Yes, in general.: Typical sore throat caused by colds, sinus issues/drainage, etc., should not affect your surgeons plans for 3rd molar removal. However, check with the surgeon anyway, as they may want to discuss the problem or see you to evaluate. Not always: While your wisdom teeth may be causing your sore throat there are many other causative factors which may require treatment prior to 3rd molar extractions. For example, you would not want to extract the teeth if you had strep throat or tonsillitis for fear of spreading the bacterial infection and making matters worse. It is always better to consult with your oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
