Alot: Group b streptococcus or streptococcus agalactiae colonizes or is part of normal colonic and vaginal flora. It can be transmitted to neonates at birth causing neonatal sepsis. This organism causes many different infections in adults including female genital tract infections, pneumonia, endocarditis, septic arthritis, osteomyelitis, skin and soft tissue infections and meningitis.
