Possibly- more tests: A 41 band alone could signify lyme but is not enough to make the diagnosis. Unfortunately most labs don't do an adequate WB test- it's crucial to test the highly specific 31 & 34 bands & most labs don't. Ignenex does the best test. Confusing...: Confusing info. If WB means HIV test, p41 band alone does not indicate HIV infection. Not sure what "dfm" means, maybe direct fluorescent antibody? If pathology report with FA showed gumma (not "gemma") and spirochetes, almost certainly it is syphilis; some tertiary syphilis with gumma can have negative syphilis blood test. Lyme seems unlikely. Probably unrelated to demyelenation problem.
