A member asked:

How can nutrition act as a risk factor for type 2 diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not nutrition: But obesity which is a risk factor. High quality nutrition in the right amount which, coupled with exercise, keeps you lean -- does not increase your risk of diabetes. Over nutrition (eating too much and gaining weight) is a definite risk factor however. It's not the food, it's how much that matters.
