Pretty much like all: That being said, there are some distinctions. People with dementia need calm, patient, balanced assistance with good attention to their communication of needs. Avoid abrupt, sharp interactions - clear & firm is fine but no confrontations, challenges or arguing. Offer your interpretations & seek agreement, then go on. Give simple, congruent positive feedback as much as possible. Follow their lead!
