A member asked:

What is a good way to check if i have damaged shoulder cartilage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI or CT Arthrogram: Advanced arthritis can show up on a standard x-ray but some people have subtle cartilage damage that may not be easily appreciated on a standard x-ray. An MRI or ct arthrogram would show damaged shoulder cartilage, but whether you need one of these studies should be decided by a doctor talking to you about your symptoms, examining your shoulder and seeing if cartilage may be the reason for pain.
