A member asked:

Can swishing with peroxide help an abscess tooth?

No: Swishing would have a topical effect, while an abscess originates deep inside a tooth or in the bone supporting the tooth. Peroxide would have minimal effect on the abscess, and could actually irritate the mucosa of the mouth instead.

No: It may do something on the surface and reduce symptoms, but a truly abscessed tooth is pus coming from within, trying to get out of your body. Swishing won't get rid of the infection or treat the cause. Please see your dentist.
