How can abscessed tooth cause damage?

Here are a few: Untreated tooth infections ususally progress by removing the bone in the area of the abscess. The longer you wait, the more is lost. Sometimes the teeth can become loose. Eventually this can result in a swelling or advanced infections. It is not uncommon for adjacent nerve structures to become infected leading to numbness. Treat them early and dont wait.
