A member asked:

Is 6 oz every 4 hours too much to feed a 5 month old?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Most little ones around 5 months of age take in approximately 25-35 ounces of formula/breast milk per 24 hours. Two questions: 1) are they holding it down fine? 2) are they gaining weight appropriately? If "no" to either question, discuss with your pediatrician soon. If "yes" to both, all sounds well. Discuss concerns with your doc at baby's 6 month checkup.
