Couple of thoughts : This could be neuropathy but do your feet change color when this happens. This could suggest a problem call erythromelalgia. These are some of things that your physician will look for when you are evaluated.

How do you treat severe nerve pain on the bottom of your foot. Its a tiny spot but it hurts on the scale of having a natural birth no meds. Can walk or lift foot when its hurting. Advil and aleve helps but only for a short time. The burnin feeling?
