Throat involves: Swallowing, breathing and speaking. Changes in these are signs. Can also have pain going to the ear. The neck has muscles, blood vessels, nerves and a few lymphatic glands that enlarge with infections (hurt), and tumor (usually do not hurt. (endocrine glands: thyroid and parathyroid are in the low neck as well. Cancers usually are squamous. These are assoc with tobacco & hpv.
