No conservative cure: There is no actual cure for vaginal prolapse without surgery. Vaginal pessaries can be fitted to reduce the prolapse and keep everything in its normal anatomic positioning, but need to be used continuously since they just treat the symptom, but don't actually cure the prolapse. Think of it like an untied shoe -- you cannot fix the problem without tightening and retying the laces.

A pessary.: Vaginal prolapse only needs to be treated if it is symptomatic. Many women can be effectively treated with a simple pessary. Pessaries come in many sizes and shapes and can be inserted into the vagina to support your pelvic organs. Your gynecologist can fit you with an appropriate sized pessary or make a referral to a specialist if needed.
