A variant Hb: Carriers of hemoglobin c are asymptomatic and will pass the trait to half their children. Hemogoblin c by itself is harmless. If you do not have any variant hemoglobin ad your girl friend is a carrier, half your children would be hb c carriers but other than, may be, slightly low haemoglobin, will not have any serious issues.
