A member asked:

Does cold weather make your chest tighten up like you can't breathe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Cold air is a known irritant to the lungs. In certain patients, cold air can actually trigger the muscles that surround the bronchial tubes to spasm, leading to shortness of breath. This can be treated with a short acting bronchodilator like albuterol.
