Exposure to germ: A non immune person exposed to someone with chickenpox has > 95% risk of acquiring the disease.The cpx patient is contagious from a day prior to breaking out until the sixth day.Their saliva, sneezes or the debris from blisters all can spread the disease.The average incubation is 14 days from exposure but 10-21 is the range.
