A member asked:

What would be the latest age you can get chicken pox?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unknown: Chickenpox has never been a reportable disease by case as there were often 2 million cases/yr in the us before the vaccine. Most adults (90%) who do not recall having cpx have blood evidence of prior infection. It does occur in adults and can be serious, producing a potentially fatal pneumonia.A blood test can determine if a erson is immune.A vaccine is available if not.
