Unusual: Breast swelling in infants reflects trans-placental passage of maternal hormones and can be pronounced to the point some secrete milk.This is rare but what you describe may be part of that process.These infants usually have their milk ducts plugged but trauma or manipulation can stirr up problems. Ocassionally i see an infection after germs enter the open ducts. Have this evaluated soon.
