Any nerve in body: Shingles is caused by the chickenpox virus and can be a very painful viral infection involving nerve ares on the body. Around the chest at intercostal nerves, down the leg on the sciatic nerves. Or even trigeminal pain involving an eye., but actually almost any area of the body can be affected.
