I understand cancer affects the immune system and stuff, so if i got something like a head cold, how dangerous would it be for me?

Depends: If you have cancer and your immunity was depressed sometimes a viral infection can become serious, so you should consult your oncologist if you have new symptoms. If you do not have cancer you do not have to worry about a head cold.
