Telephone call...: ... To your dentist. If the nerve is exposed, then the tooth needs treatment asap. Teeth with exposed nerves usually require root canal therapy. This situation can escalate to an emergency with unbearable pain in a matter of hours. Please call now.

Two Options: Option 1 - definitive treatment to save the tooth which may include root canal therapy option 2- have the tooth removed if root canal therapy is not a feasible option.

Is the nerve of the tooth exposed or is the root partially exposed? Is the tooth malpositioned? Is there any sign of cavity or fracture? Is the tooth in hyper function? Cause of your symptoms has to be determined to then provide appropriate care. Please see your Dentist for an examination/ imaging/possible lab tests.
