A member asked:

How can you treat a bad cold and an after-quitting-smoking cough?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Within a few weeks: If you quit smoking before you have moderate to severe COPD which is the term encompassing chronic bronchitis and emphysema you will see improvement in your stamina in several weeks and you will see disappearance of a chronic cough in just a few weeks. Also, nasal congestion and post-nasal drainage are much improved after stopping smoking.
