How many days?: How many days ago? If just a day then Ibuprofen and tylenol (acetaminophen). If you can't take those then a Benadryl and or unison and try to sleep it off. If you are further along in your journey like three days out then oil of clove may be useful to you or if you are in excruciating pain go see your surgeon soon. I hope you find something that helps soon. Dental pain stinks!

Hard to help...: What pain meds can't you take, and for what reason? This should have been discussed with your surgeon before the extractions. You can wait to get in touch with your surgeon, or go to the er where they can take a full medical history and prescribe meds that you can tolerate.

Need more info: When someone says they cannot take pain meds after wisdom teeth surgery this can mean several things. Some patients say they cannot swallow pills, or swallow because their mouth is numb. Others say they cannot take pain meds because they have nausea afterwards. Others may have a true allergy and cannot take the prescribed med. Your doc needs to know the reason why you cannot take the pain med.
